Eligibility Requirements

All persons who register to be listed on the Clergy Services website must be legally qualified to perform wedding ceremonies in the state where the ceremony takes place. This means that each officiant must be licensed or ordained by his or her religious group or, in the case of judges, justices of the peace or notaries, be recognized by the state or province as qualified to perform wedding ceremonies. We do not knowingly list persons who have received internet or “mail-order” ordination certificates.
